Aashna Doshi, 23, a former software engineer at Google, resigned in May 2025 to focus on her AI startup, Bounty.
Doshi had initially rejected a Google offer in California in February 2024, seeking a position in New York City. She accepted a software engineering role in New York two months later.
From Podcast to Startup
While at Google, Doshi co-hosted the "0 to 1" podcast, which she started in early 2025 with her cofounder. The podcast, featuring interviews with founders, engineers, and executives, received over 100,000 YouTube views within its first year. Doshi stated that the podcast helped her network with senior professionals and gave her confidence to leave Google.
The Leap of Faith
Doshi's startup, Bounty, is an outcome-based AI marketplace. The company is pre-launch and not yet generating revenue. She described her founder salary as a fraction of her previous Google pay.
"I'm willing to forgo financial security to pursue a perceived opportunity in AI," Doshi said, characterizing her decision.
