Winnipeg Jets Defenseman Haydn Fleury Hospitalized Following Collision
Winnipeg Jets defenseman Haydn Fleury was removed from the ice on a stretcher during the first period of a game against the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday at Canada Life Centre. The Jets lost the game 4-3 in overtime.
Incident Details
At 13:16 of the first period, Fleury slid into the end boards after being hit by Golden Knights forward Keegan Kolesar. Fleury was attempting to clear the puck from the defensive zone when the collision occurred. His head and upper body made principal contact with the boards. No penalty was assessed to Kolesar on the play.
Medical Update
Jets coach Scott Arniel stated that Fleury would remain overnight in the hospital for further evaluation. Arniel reported that Fleury sustained a broken nose, in addition to impacts to his back, neck, and head.

Fleury has not recorded a point in 17 games this season for the Winnipeg Jets, whose current record is 15-21-5.
