Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 & Galaxy Watch Ultra 2: Everything We Know So Far
A series of leaks from multiple sources have provided details on Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, expected to be announced at a Galaxy Unpacked event in late July 2026. The information covers design changes, new color options, software features, and a line of compatible watch bands.
Design and Color Options
Galaxy Watch 9
Leaked renders indicate the Galaxy Watch 9 will be available in several color configurations, including black, silver, and beige. Other reports specify case colors of light silver, dark silver, and near-black, paired with bands in white, green, or dark blue. The device is expected in 40mm and 44mm sizes.
Reports suggest there will be no Classic model in the lineup this year, contradicting earlier speculation.
Design updates are reported to be minimal, featuring new case colors, a new default band design, and a subtler brushed metal finish.
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2
Renders leaked by tipster Evan Blass show a design similar to the first-generation Galaxy Watch Ultra. Key differences include:
- Numbers (1-12) added along the bezel
- The orange button accent is now a smaller ring on the side button
- Accent colors have been removed from the two additional buttons
- Increased separation between the buttons
- An updated band design featuring an "Ultra" wordmark
Further reports describe the Ultra 2 as having a "boxier" chassis with thinner display bezels. The presence of a mechanical rotating bezel has not been confirmed.
Software and Hardware Features
Leaked software-sourced renders suggest the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will feature a dedicated compass interface.
A software revamp is expected with One UI 9 Watch, including a redesigned Samsung Health application and a new watch face picker. Health tracking features mentioned in leaks include "trail run" tracking and new health markers.
The base Galaxy Watch 9 is rumored to be powered by a Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset and may see a price increase compared to previous models.
Watch Band Offerings
Press renders published by Android Headlines show up to 60 images of official wrist bands, divided into several categories. Bands designed for the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 feature "Ultra" branding, while those for the Galaxy Watch 9 do not. The connector design remains unchanged from the previous generation.
