Event
Helen Mirren received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily, where she commented on her relationship with 'MobLand' co-star Tom Hardy.
When asked by Variety whether she would continue to work with Hardy, Mirren responded: "Absolutely. In a f–king heartbeat."
"I love Tom, I think he’s the most amazing actor. Different actors have different processes. I’ve learnt over the years that some people get to things faster. As long as what’s on the screen is fantastic, I’m totally chilled with however someone gets there."
Context
Reports had emerged that Hardy might be fired from 'MobLand' due to unprofessional behavior on set. Mirren previously expressed support for Hardy on Instagram, and industry sources indicated discussions were underway for his return.
Mirren also expressed hope for a third season of 'MobLand,' stating:
"When you have powerful artistic people working together, the creative process is challenging. People will get their knickers in a twist as we say. We will go forward, absolutely, and it will be even better."
Recent Work
Mirren recently filmed Anton Corbijn's 'A Talent for Murder,' an adaptation of the stage play 'Switzerland,' in which she plays author Patricia Highsmith.
