Pakistan, Russia, China and others urge US-Iran de-escalation

Pakistan, Russia, China, India, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia have issued statements calling for de-escalation between the US and Iran, urging a return to negotiations.

Pakistan

A foreign ministry spokesman said Pakistan remains "deeply concerned" about the escalation and that "diplomacy and dialogue should be the guiding principles." Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held meetings with senior leaders in Iran this week.

India

The foreign ministry described repeated attacks on commercial vessels as "deeply worrisome" and called for immediate de-escalation and continued negotiations.

Russia

Called on the US and Iran to restart peace talks, warning that new strikes would harm the world economy.

China

A military spokesperson expressed "serious concern," stating that resorting to force would further aggravate tensions and cannot resolve underlying issues.

Turkey

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called for the US and Iran to halt renewed attacks and resume negotiations.

Saudi Arabia

The foreign ministry called for de-escalation and fresh negotiations mediated by Pakistan and Qatar.
