Amazon Launches 'Sleep Studio' for Echo Devices to Help Kids Wind Down
Amazon has introduced a new feature called Sleep Studio for its Echo and Echo Kids smart speakers. The feature is designed to help children transition to bedtime through a curated selection of bedtime stories, relaxing sounds, and guided meditations.
Key Features & Accessibility
Sleep Studio is available at no extra cost to subscribers of Amazon Kids Plus, which costs $5.99 per month. A free one-month trial is offered, and purchasing an Echo Kids device includes a complementary six- or 12-month subscription.
"A good night's sleep is important for a healthy, rested mind for everyone."
— Fergal Walker, Vice President of Partnerships at Calm
Parental Controls & Automation
Parents can create and edit bedtime schedules, sleep windows, and playlists via the Amazon Kids Parent Dashboard app or website.
A half-hour wind-down routine is automatically triggered 30 minutes before a child's scheduled bedtime. Children can also start it manually by saying, "Alexa, play Sleep Studio."
The Echo Glow night light illuminates with color-coded lights to indicate when it's time to sleep and when to wake up.
Content Partners
Sleep Studio's content comes from well-known platforms, including Headspace, Moshi, and Calm. Calm has contributed a library of meditations, lullabies, soundscapes, and Sleep Stories specifically tailored for children.
