Fairfield High School Shooting: One Dead, Three Injured After Graduation Ceremony

A shooting in the parking lot of Fairfield High School on June 3, 2026, left one person dead and three others injured. The incident occurred shortly after a graduation ceremony on campus.

Incident Details

According to the Fairfield Police Department, the shooting took place at approximately 7:15 p.m. local time. The location was the parking lot of Fairfield High School, a campus that also houses Sem Yeto High School. The event followed a graduation ceremony for Sem Yeto High School.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots while families were taking photographs in the parking lot.

Four individuals sustained gunshot wounds in total. An 18-year-old victim was declared dead at the scene. Three other victims were transported to a hospital:

  • An 11-year-old child
  • A 20-year-old adult
  • A 25-year-old adult

The current medical condition of these three individuals has not been released by authorities.

Investigation

The Fairfield Police Department is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Solano County Sheriff's Office. As of the latest statements, police have not released a description of a suspect.

Police have stated there is no known ongoing threat to the community.

The Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District confirmed that classes will continue as scheduled.

Fairfield Mayor Catherine Moy stated that the shooter "will face justice." Suisun City Mayor Alma Hernandez posted on Facebook that a search for the shooter is underway.

Michelle Belyea, a Fairfield Police Department officer, described the incident as "a very active incident."

Ilana Israel Samuels, representing the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District, said: "Our thoughts are with the individuals affected and as soon as we have more details we will share that with you."
