Security Preparations in Monterrey for 2026 World Cup
The BBC's Will Grant observed extensive security preparations in Monterrey, Nuevo León, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Mexico is scheduled to host 13 matches during the tournament, with Monterrey hosting four.
Monterrey's police department will deploy 11 helicopters, 2 Black Hawk helicopters, and 90 armored vehicles for the event.
Armed robotic dogs will patrol the streets, and a central command center will monitor activity across Nuevo León.
