A digital health pilot has been launched in Jersey to test automated medication dispensers in homes.
The 'Automated Medication Dispensers Project' is funded with over £77,500 from Impact Jersey's Innovation Programme, plus matched funding from the delivery team.
The system, delivered by Evondos in collaboration with local GPs, pharmacies, and care providers, dispenses medication at scheduled times and monitors vital signs. It aims to reduce missed or incorrect medication and the need for multiple daily care visits.
The ten-month pilot focuses on individuals taking multiple medications or managing long-term conditions. Evidence will be gathered on clinical outcomes, workforce impact, and cost-effectiveness.
