Electrolux has introduced a new line of steam ovens to the Australian market, aiming to expand the culinary possibilities of home cooking. To showcase the range's capabilities, the company has partnered with acclaimed chef Matt Stone.
Key Technologies in the New Range
The lineup features several proprietary technologies designed for versatility and precision:
- SteamBake, SteamCrisp, and SteamPro: These models offer varying levels of steam integration for different cooking outcomes.
- Steamify Technology: This system automatically adjusts steam levels based on the selected cooking temperature, simplifying the process.
The ovens provide flexibility with options for no steam, light steam, or full steam.
Expanding the Perception of Steam Cooking
Steam cooking is known for retaining moisture in food and can reduce cooking times. When combined with conventional heat, it also produces crispy exteriors. While often associated with vegetables and health-focused meals, Electrolux is challenging this narrow view.
A Chef's Perspective
To demonstrate the ovens' broader applications, Chef Matt Stone developed a Nordic-inspired menu that goes beyond typical steam cooking. His dishes included steamed buns, duck breast, and mussels.
