# Rams' Number Swap: Myles Garrett Secures No. 95 for 2026 Season
"Maybe more than a couple, but he was open to it." — Myles Garrett, on the cost of switching numbers.
Defensive end Myles Garrett will wear jersey number 95 for the Los Angeles Rams during the 2026 season after purchasing the number from teammate Poona Ford.
Garrett, acquired by the Rams in a trade with the Cleveland Browns on March 10, 2026, had worn number 95 throughout his nine seasons with Cleveland. He previously wore number 15 at Texas A&M.
At his introductory press conference, Garrett stated that the number transfer required a conversation and financial compensation. When asked by coach Sean McVay if it involved "a couple bucks," Garrett replied, "Maybe more than a couple, but he was open to it."
Garrett said he knew immediately after the trade that he would contact Ford about buying the number.
The change triggered a series of uniform adjustments among Rams defensive linemen:
- Poona Ford, the previous wearer of number 95, switched to number 97.
- Defensive lineman Bill Norton moved from number 97 to number 93.
- Defensive lineman Payton Zdroik changed from number 93 to number 62.
