The Birth of Pachuca Athletic Club
In 1895, a meeting held by Rule led to the amalgamation of Pachuca Cricket Club, Pachuca Football Club, and Velasco Cricket Club to form Pachuca Athletic Club. Rule donated land for games, with the condition they not be played on Sundays due to his Methodist beliefs.
The First Mexican League
In 1902, other clubs emerged, including Orizaba in Veracruz, which claims to be Mexico's first club. That year, five clubs established the first recognized Mexican football league, the Liga Mexicana de Football Amateur Association. Orizaba won the first title in 1902; Pachuca won the 1904-05 title.
