Explosion at Fireworks Factory in Naxxar, Malta

An explosion occurred at a fireworks factory in Naxxar, Malta on Monday, according to local authorities.

Casualties and Response

Two men in nearby fields sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital.

All licensed workers associated with the premises have been accounted for; none were on site at the time of the explosion, as per the Malta Police Force.

Aftermath

Large plumes of smoke were visible after the explosions.
