The trade was completed on Monday. The Patriots sent a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick to the Eagles in exchange for Brown.
Jersey Number
Brown will wear number 1 with the Patriots. This was his college number at the University of Mississippi.
Brown previously wore number 11 with the Tennessee Titans and Philadelphia Eagles during his NFL career. According to reports, Brown declined the number 11 jersey out of respect for former Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman. Edelman had given permission for Brown to use the number, but Brown chose to wear a different number. Number 11 was available on the Patriots roster following the release of quarterback Joshua Dobbs.
Number 1 was previously worn by Patriots wide receiver Ja'Lynn Polk, who was selected by the team in the 2024 NFL Draft.
