A New Era of PC

Microsoft, Nvidia, and Arm have coordinated a teaser campaign, promising a major announcement for personal computing during the week of May 29, 2026.

The three tech giants simultaneously posted "A new era of PC" to social media, coinciding with the Computex conference in Taipei and the forthcoming Microsoft Build developer conference. Industry reports suggest the announcement will center on Nvidia's new Arm-based processors for Windows laptops.

Announcement Details

On May 28, 2026, Microsoft's Windows and Xbox accounts, along with Nvidia's official account, posted the message "A new era of PC" on social media platform X. Arm's account also shared a similar post.

The posts included geographic coordinates (25.0528, 121.5990), which correspond to the Taipei Music Center, the venue for the Computex conference.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is scheduled to deliver a keynote at Computex on June 1, 2026. Microsoft Build begins on June 2, 2026. More details are expected during these events.

Statements from Microsoft

Pavan Davuluri, Microsoft's head of Windows and Surface, confirmed that the announcement is not related to a new operating system version (e.g., Windows 12). He stated that "something new is coming for developers" and shared an image showing the edge of a curved display.

"Something new is coming for developers."

Reported Hardware

Multiple industry reports from The Verge and VideoCardz indicate that the announcement may involve Nvidia's rumored N1 and N1X Arm-based processors designed for Windows laptops.

Reports from other sources state that PC manufacturers Lenovo and Dell are preparing devices that would use these processors.

Nvidia's entry into the Windows on Arm processor market would end Qualcomm's current exclusive license to supply chips for Microsoft's Arm-based version of Windows 11.
