Essendon has identified up to eight potential additions to its senior squad for the upcoming AFL round 3 match against the West Coast Eagles.

The club has announced several returning players for the match:
- Elijah Tsatas returns to the squad.
- Will Setterfield returns to the squad.
- Saad El-Hawli returns after recovering from a broken collarbone.
- Nik Cox has been named following a VFL performance against Richmond where he recorded 21 disposals and two goals.
- Max Kondogiannis, a draftee, has been selected for what would be his fourth AFL game.
