Geelong Cats were leapfrogged on the ladder by Hawthorn last night.
A victory against Carlton could allow Geelong to reclaim third spot and stay in touch with top-two teams Sydney and Fremantle.
If Carlton wins, they would move up one spot to 14th on the ladder, though their final round position is not guaranteed. They would be six points out of a wildcard place.
