Parikh spelled 32 words in 90 seconds to Gupta's 25, setting a new spell-off record. The final word was "cashaw."
This was Parikh's third bee; he placed 89th in 2022 and third in 2024.
The competition was held in Washington, D.C., for the first time in 15 years.
Parikh will receive $52,500 in cash, reference works, flight credits, and a meet-and-greet with an astronaut at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
