Dana White vs. Anderson Silva: The Backstory Behind a Bitter Feud

"Anderson Silva does not speak to me because I told him his career was over at age 40."

In a recent interview, UFC President Dana White revealed the root of his fractured relationship with former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva. According to White, the falling out began when he delivered a blunt assessment of Silva's fighting future.

Silva Fires Back on Instagram

The Brazilian legend did not take the comment lightly. Responding on Instagram, Silva took aim at White, asserting that he saved the promotion on multiple occasions during his historic run.

The Numbers: A Declining Record

Before his release from the UFC in 2020, Silva’s performance had sharply declined. His final stretch in the Octagon included three consecutive losses and seven losses in nine fights, a stark contrast to the dominant form that once made him the most feared fighter in the sport.

Post-UFC Success in Boxing

Since leaving the promotion, Silva has found new life in the boxing ring. He has secured notable victories over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Tito Ortiz, and former UFC rival Tyron Woodley. His only defeat in this new chapter came against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.
