French Actor Pierre Deny Dies at 69 After ALS Diagnosis
French actor Pierre Deny passed away on Monday, May 25, at the age of 69, following a battle with ALS, according to a statement released by his daughters.
Deny was widely known for his role as Louis de Léon in seasons 3 and 4 of the Netflix series Emily in Paris. He also appeared in over 300 episodes of the French soap opera Demain Nous Appartient from 2017 to 2023, and held roles in Camping Paradis and Le Fil d'Ariane.
Actress Sylvie Vartan paid tribute to Deny on Instagram, recalling their work together in a play. Deny began his acting career in the 1980s and was best known for roles in French TV series such as Sous Le Soleil, Une femme d'honneur, and Cinq soeurs.
