MS Queensland and Broncos Join Forces for Round 13 Charity Match

"This partnership offers hope to the 1.3 million Queenslanders living with a neurological condition."
– MS Queensland CEO David Curd

The Brisbane Broncos and MS Queensland have partnered for the Round 13 charity match against the Dragons, bringing together sport and community support for a vital cause.

A Personal Meeting at the Neuro Wellness Hub

During a visit to MS Queensland's Neuro Wellness Hub, Broncos players Corey Jensen and Preston Riki met 16-year-old rugby league player Bailey, who was recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS).

Bailey's diagnosis was a prolonged process. His mother, Narelle, reported that initial medical consultations characterized him as a healthy teenage boy, but after persistent requests from the family, a diagnosis was finally secured.

Despite the challenges, Bailey has expressed a strong commitment to maintaining a positive outlook and pursuing his rugby dreams.

Understanding the Condition

MS is the most common chronic neurological condition affecting young adults, with most diagnoses occurring between ages 20 and 40. Neurological conditions affect 1 in 4 Queenslanders.

MS Queensland provides support services for people with MS and other neurological conditions, including:

  • Stroke
  • Motor neuron disease (MND)
  • Dementia
  • Epilepsy
  • Chronic migraine
  • Parkinson's disease

How to Support

Proceeds from the 50-50 Charity Raffle during the Round 13 match will go directly to MS Queensland, enabling access to services and community connection for those living with neurological conditions.
