Mass Ban Wave Targets Unauthorized Enhancements

NetEase, the developer behind Marvel Rivals, has permanently banned 488 accounts for using unauthorized third-party cheats. The studio published the full list of banned accounts on the game's official blog and also moved to clarify ongoing rumors regarding its anti-cheat system.

The Timing & Scope of the Crackdown

The ban wave followed a weekend update during which NetEase detected players actively promoting and deploying cheats. All banned accounts are permanently suspended, and the studio has warned that repeat offenders may face additional consequences, including IP and hardware bans.

Breaking Down the Banned Players by Rank

The published list includes the in-game ranks of the banned players, revealing a wide spread across skill levels:

  • 184 players were in Bronze, the lowest rank.
  • 65 players were in Grandmaster.
  • 65 players were in Diamond.
  • 3 players had reached the top rank, One Above All.

NetEase Addresses Anti-Cheat Misinformation

In response to circulating rumors, NetEase clarified the functionality of its anti-cheat system:

"The parameter in question merely hides the pop-up window; it does not deactivate the anti-cheat software in any capacity."

The studio emphasized that the anti-cheat software cannot be disabled via launch parameters. Adjusting a specific parameter only hides a pop-up window, leaving the core protection fully active.

Zero-Tolerance Policy

The bans are part of an ongoing zero-tolerance policy against cheating in Marvel Rivals, aligning the game with industry peers such as Apex Legends and Marathon.
