Sega’s iconic arcade racer is finally back, ending a seven-year digital silence.
Sega has released a short teaser video for a new Crazy Taxi game, breaking a near seven-year hiatus for the franchise’s social media accounts. The brief clip shows a taxi sign flickering to life against a pitch-black background.
The project is part of a broader initiative by Sega to reboot several classic intellectual properties, including Golden Axe, Jet Set Radio, and Streets of Rage. The new Crazy Taxi was first officially teased at The Game Awards 2023.
While Sega has not officially confirmed specific details, previous leaks have suggested the game may be a live-service title. Rumored features include a battle royale mode with up to 100 players and development on Unreal Engine 5.
