Ticket Retrieval Woes: Chatbot Fails to Guide User to Digital Tickets

A customer who purchased tickets for a comedy show through Ticketmaster found the chatbot integrated into the app to be unhelpful, leading to a confusing search for digital QR codes.

A customer reported difficulty retrieving event tickets after interacting with a chatbot integrated into the Ticketmaster app. The customer had purchased two seats for a comedy show and received an email confirmation, but the system did not generate the QR codes required for entry.

The chatbot, powered by Google Dialogflow, was unable to provide clear instructions for accessing the tickets. During the interaction, the customer asked multiple queries. The chatbot directed the user to an account page that appeared empty.

The customer eventually discovered the tickets via an icon on the app’s button bar that the chatbot had not previously mentioned. The customer expressed frustration about the complicated process for retrieving simple digital tickets.

Event Entry

Despite the initial difficulty, the customer was able to attend the show. The tickets were scanned by an usher who decoded the virtual tickets. The event was enjoyed as planned.
