Premier League Final Day: Drama Awaits

The final day of the Premier League season is upon us, with several crucial positions still undecided. One relegation spot, European qualification places, and a potential extra Champions League spot are all on the line.

Relegation Battle

West Ham will be relegated if they fail to beat Leeds at home. Additionally, West Ham will be relegated if Tottenham beats Everton, or if Spurs draw and West Ham wins by fewer than 12 goals.

European Qualification

Champions League Race

  • Liverpool needs a point to secure a Champions League place. If Liverpool beats Brentford and Aston Villa loses to Manchester City, Liverpool finishes fourth, Villa drops to fifth, and due to Villa's Europa League win, a sixth Champions League spot opens up.

Sixth Place & Europa League

  • Bournemouth needs a point at Nottingham Forest to guarantee sixth place. If Bournemouth loses, Brighton can overtake them by beating Manchester United.

Chelsea & The Europa Conference League

  • Chelsea needs to beat Sunderland to ensure European football. Sunderland needs a win to have a chance of qualification.
  • A draw between Chelsea and Sunderland would allow Brentford to leapfrog Chelsea with a win at Anfield, and could also put Chelsea above Brighton if Brighton loses by at least two goals.

The Premier League will not award an extra Europa League place if an extra Champions League spot is granted.

Other Notable Matches

  • Burnley hosts Wolves in a match to avoid last place.
  • Arsenal will be presented with the trophy after their match at Crystal Palace.
  • Pep Guardiola's final home game in charge of Manchester City is against Aston Villa.
  • Andoni Iraola's final match as Bournemouth manager.
  • Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson play their final match for Liverpool at Anfield.
