According to reports from NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport, Dart addressed his teammates on Wednesday to discuss the introduction. Team leaders, including Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Jameis Winston, spoke during the meeting.

Per ESPN's Jordan Raanan, one topic of discussion was the importance of keeping internal team matters private and not airing frustrations publicly.

"The team has had honest conversations among themselves, which he intends to keep private."

Giants linebacker Abdul Carter posted on social media on Saturday in response to Dart's appearance at the rally.

"Thought this sh!t was AI. What we doing man."

Carter later deleted the post and confirmed the two had resolved their disagreement. In a subsequent post, Carter stated:

"Me & JD6 are good! We spoke earlier as Men. Yall can keep yall narratives."

Following the team meeting and the social media exchange, Dart gave an opening statement lasting over four minutes to reporters. According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, Dart said:

• The opportunity to introduce the President was unique and that he has always respected the office of the President regardless of political party, citing family members who served in the military or government.
• He acknowledged the responsibility of being the Giants quarterback and said he has embraced the scrutiny.
• He expressed love for New York and New Jersey and the relationships he has built with teammates, staff, and coaches.
• He stated that he loves his teammates regardless of politics or personal differences and values the diverse backgrounds in the locker room.
• He said the team has had honest conversations among themselves, which he intends to keep private, and he is focused on building team culture and pursuing a championship.

President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social thanking Dart for his appearance at the rally and defending him against critics. Dart's personal political alignment is with President Trump, according to multiple reports.
