View source

Pedro Rodrigues Filho, the Brazilian vigilante who killed at least 71 criminals, died in a drive-by shooting in March 2023. He was 68.

"He killed at least 71 people, mostly drug dealers, rapists, and murderers, but stated the actual number was higher."

Background and Early Crimes

Born in 1954, Rodrigues began his killing spree at age 18 after murdering a rapist while in police custody. Most of his crimes occurred during his teenage years.

Prison and Release

Initially sentenced to 126 years, Rodrigues was released in 2003 due to Brazil's 30-year maximum prison term policy. He was re-arrested in 2011 and served an additional seven years. After his final release in 2019, he became a crime commentator on YouTube.

Influence

Rodrigues' story inspired the book series "Dexter" about a serial killer targeting other killers, which later became a television show.
