Liquidator says Rocksman cannot refund ticket holders for cancelled Candace Owens tour

View source

Rocksman, the promoter behind Candace Owens' cancelled Australian tour, entered liquidation in December 2024 with just 21 Australian cents in its bank account.

Liquidator David Sampson confirmed that refunds to ticket holders are impossible, as the company had no cancellation insurance and had spent all its funds.

The tour sold roughly 15,000 tickets, with prices ranging from $95 to $1,500, generating at least $1.4 million in revenue. The sole director and shareholder of Rocksman is George Zacharia.

Creditors Left Owed Millions

  • Candace Owens claims her legal bills and loans to Rocksman exceed hundreds of thousands of dollars.
  • Tour sponsor As Good As Gold says it is owed $80,000.
  • The liquidator has identified debts of over $760,000 to creditors, including employees and ticket holders.

Financial Status Under Scrutiny

The liquidator's report indicates the company may have traded while insolvent.

It also flagged $385,000 worth of transactions that could be "unreasonable director-related transactions," requiring further investigation. However, the company lacks the funds to commence legal proceedings to recover any money.

Statements from Key Figures

Joel Jammal, head of Turning Point Australia and a sponsor, stated he was unaware of Rocksman's financial difficulties and relied on assurances that refunds would be issued.

Candace Owens' spokesperson said Owens only learned of the liquidation in January 2025, despite Rocksman promising refunds until the very end.

Rocksman director George Zacharia did not respond to requests for comment.
