Red Dead Redemption 2 Claims Third Place in All-Time Sales, Surpasses Wii Sports
Take-Two Interactive has announced in its latest FY26 earnings report that Red Dead Redemption 2 has shipped over 85 million units worldwide, officially surpassing Nintendo's Wii Sports (82.9 million) to become the third best-selling video game of all time.
The game typically sells 2-3 million copies per quarter and 7-11 million per year, with an exceptional 24 million units sold in the two quarters after its launch.
Rockstar frequently uses discounts to drive sales, reducing the price to $14.99–$19.99, which continues to fuel the game's long-term commercial momentum.
No announcement has been made regarding a native ninth-generation console re-release. The current version is optimized for PS4 and PS4 Pro and remains backward compatible on PS5. Rockstar is currently focused on developing GTA 6.
