Grizzwald 'Grizz' Chapman Dies at 52
The actor, best known for his role as Grizz on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock, has died.
Grizzwald "Grizz" Chapman, who portrayed the character Grizz on the hit NBC sitcom 30 Rock, died on Friday at the age of 52. His longtime representative, Saideh A. Brown, confirmed the death to TMZ. A cause of death was not immediately provided.
A Life in the Spotlight
Born on April 16, 1974, in Brooklyn, Chapman stood an imposing seven feet tall. Before his acting career took off, he worked as a bouncer. He was eventually cast by Tracy Morgan to play the role of Grizz alongside Kevin Brown (who played Dot Com) on 30 Rock, which aired from 2006 to 2013.
Beyond 30 Rock
Chapman was also a creator, launching the YouTube series Grizz Chronicles. His television credits included appearances on Blue Bloods, The Blacklist, and The Good Fight.
Advocacy and Health Struggles
Chapman had previously spoken publicly about his battle with kidney disease and served as a spokesperson for the National Kidney Foundation.
