Two dead, one critically injured in Captain Cook Highway multi-vehicle crash
A fatal collision on the Captain Cook Highway in Far North Queensland has claimed two lives and left a woman fighting for her life.
Emergency services were called to the scene south of the Reynolds Road intersection shortly before 4:00 PM on April 14, 2025.
A Mitsubishi Triton utility struck a Mazda MX-5 before colliding with an MG3 hatchback. The 25-year-old female driver of the MG3 and her infant passenger died at the scene.
A 22-year-old female passenger in the MG3 was airlifted to Cairns Hospital in critical condition.
The 62-year-old male driver of the Mitsubishi Triton was taken to Cairns Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 54-year-old male driver of the Mazda and his 57-year-old female passenger did not sustain any physical injuries.
The crash is under investigation by authorities.
