AFL Match Review: Thilthorpe Suspended, Rachele Fined After Hawks-Giants Clash

The Match Review Officer has issued sanctions following Thursday's round 11 match between Hawthorn and Kuwarna (Adelaide).

Thilthorpe Accepts One-Match Ban

Kuwarna forward Riley Thilthorpe has accepted a one-game suspension for striking Hawthorn ruckman Lloyd Meek in the fourth quarter. The incident was graded as intentional conduct with medium impact to the body.

"Thilthorpe will miss the round 13 clash against Geelong, unless he successfully challenges the ban at the tribunal."

Thilthorpe, who missed the previous match due to a back injury, had a quiet performance against Hawthorn, recording 16 disposals, two marks, and no goals. With Kuwarna enjoying a bye in round 12, the suspension means he will be sidelined for the round 13 match against Geelong.

Rachele Fined for Staging

In a separate incident, Kuwarna midfielder Josh Rachele was fined $1,000 (with an early guilty plea) for staging during the second quarter.

Rachele kicked one goal and had 16 disposals in the loss, which ended with a nine-point defeat.
