Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson to Marry in Bahamas; President to Skip Ceremony

Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of U.S. President Donald Trump, is scheduled to marry Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson in a small ceremony this weekend in the Bahamas. President Trump has stated he will not attend, citing government responsibilities.

Wedding Details

The wedding is expected to take place on a small island in the Bahamas with a guest list of fewer than 50 people, consisting of immediate family and close friends.

According to a marriage certificate posted online and cited by TMZ, Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson reportedly legalized their marriage on Thursday, April 24, 2025, in West Palm Beach, Florida. The president's Mar-a-Lago club is located in that city.

Bettina Anderson is a 39-year-old socialite and model from a prominent banking family in Palm Beach. This will be Donald Trump Jr.'s second marriage. He was previously married to Vanessa Trump from 2006 until their divorce in 2018, and they have five children together. He was engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle from 2020 to 2024.

Vanessa Trump announced on April 23, 2025, that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Presidential Attendance

President Donald Trump has stated he will not attend the wedding. On April 24, 2025, President Trump told reporters in the Oval Office that he would try to attend but noted the timing was not ideal due to "a thing called Iran and other things."

On Friday, April 25, 2025, President Trump wrote on Truth Social:

"While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon to be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so."

He added that he felt it was important to remain in Washington, D.C., during this period.

The president's published schedule for Saturday and Sunday lists only "executive time" at the White House.
