Arteta did not watch the decisive match between Bournemouth and Manchester City, which ended in a 1-1 draw and secured the title for Arsenal. He confirmed that he left the training ground 20 minutes before kickoff and purposely avoided viewing the game.

Following the confirmation, the Arsenal manager also reached out to Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola to personally thank him for the result that sealed the championship.
