"Emily in Paris" to End with Season 6, Production Begins in Greece

"Making Emily in Paris with this extraordinary cast and crew has been the trip of a lifetime."
Darren Star, Creator

The comedy series Emily in Paris will conclude with its upcoming sixth season. Production on the final season has begun in Greece, as confirmed by star Lily Collins, creator Darren Star, and Netflix.

Production Details

Filming for Season 6 is currently underway in Greece. The location picks up from the Season 5 finale, in which the character Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) sent Emily (Collins) a postcard from Greece, asking her to meet him there.

Creator Darren Star stated that the characters reconnecting "definitely hints at the idea that they’ll stay in each other’s lives." The final season is expected to resolve the romantic storyline between Emily and Gabriel.

Background

The series received a series order in 2018 at Paramount Network, where it was intended to air alongside Darren Star's TV Land show Younger. It moved to Netflix before its first season.

The studio behind the show, originally created for Paramount Network by MTV Entertainment Studios, has undergone two mergers (Viacom-CBS and Paramount-Skydance) and is now Paramount Television Studios.

Statements

  • Darren Star: "Making Emily in Paris with this extraordinary cast and crew has been the trip of a lifetime. As we embark on the final season, I am so grateful to Netflix, Paramount, and, most importantly, the fans who have taken this incredible journey with us. We can’t wait to share this last chapter with you."
  • Lily Collins: "Season 6 will bring you everything you love about the show and serve as the final chapter in Emily’s adventure of a lifetime. Our entire cast and crew are pouring our hearts into making this a fantastic farewell season."

Series Performance

Seasons 1–5 have spent 32 weeks on Netflix's Global Top 10 list and reached No. 1 in 90 countries.

The fifth season remained in Netflix's worldwide top 10 for English-language series for five weeks. The series has recorded 250 million views from 2023 to 2025. The show has been credited by French President Emmanuel Macron for its role in attracting visitors.

Renewal and Context

Netflix renewed the series for a sixth season in January, following the fifth season in which Emily returns to Paris after opening a Rome office. Emily in Paris joins The Lincoln Lawyer and The Night Agent as recent Netflix shows concluding with their upcoming seasons.

Emily in Paris is produced by Paramount Television Studios, Darren Star Productions, and Jax Media. Darren Star serves as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner.
