El Jannah Accelerates Victorian Expansion Amid National Growth Push
Western Sydney's beloved charcoal chicken chain is scaling up fast. El Jannah has announced plans to open 14 new restaurants across Victoria over the next 12 months, marking a significant leap in its southern presence.
The New Victorian Locations:
The expansion will reach suburbs including Box Hill, Hawthorn, Brunswick, Cranbourne East, Cranbourne West, Carrum Downs, and Narre Warren. This builds on the chain's current Victorian footprint, which currently includes Preston, South Yarra, and Ashburton.
"Our goal is to achieve even coverage across Melbourne and Victoria."
— CEO Brett Houldin
Beyond Victoria: A National and International Vision
The brand is not stopping with Victoria. El Jannah also confirmed plans to enter South Australia and Queensland within the next 12 months. Looking further ahead, the company has set its sights on international markets, including Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
The Capital Behind the Growth
Houldin clarified that the company has entered a partnership with US investment firm General Atlantic—not a sale. The capital injection is designed to support scaling from approximately 65 restaurants to between 150 and 200 over the next five years.
What Sets El Jannah Apart
In a competitive market, the chain differentiates itself by using fresh, not frozen, chicken and by making all dips, sauces, and salads in-house. This commitment to quality remains central to its rapid expansion strategy.
