Tragedy in Sydney's West: Toddler, Man Die in Head-On Crash

A 15-month-old boy and a man have died following a horrific head-on collision in Kemps Creek, in Sydney's west.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:40 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of Mamre and Abbots Roads.

A sedan collided head-on with a van. The male passenger of the sedan died at the scene.

The baby and his 25-year-old mother were rushed to hospital in critical condition. The child later died from his injuries.

The sedan's driver, a 21-year-old learner, sustained only minor injuries. The van driver, a 45-year-old man, was also treated for minor injuries. Both were taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Police have been told that the sedan may have collided with a utility vehicle shortly before the fatal crash. Investigations are continuing.
