"Her postpartum state was beneficial for the role."
In 'The Unknown', Léa Seydoux plays a character undergoing a body swap—a role she accepted shortly after giving birth to her second child in December 2024. Director Arthur Harari actively encouraged her, insisting that her postpartum state actually enhanced her performance.
The Films
'The Unknown' — Directed by Arthur Harari, this film is based on a graphic novel co-written by Harari himself. It explores profound existential questions of identity and existence.
'Gentle Monster' — Directed by Marie Kreutzer, this film follows a musician whose husband is accused of possessing child pornography.
Seydoux has also recently completed filming 'The Masque of the Red Death', an adaptation of the classic Edgar Allan Poe story.
A Career of Depth and Range
Seydoux won the Palme d'Or in 2013 for 'Blue Is the Warmest Colour', and has since appeared in major franchises including James Bond and 'Dune: Part Two'. Despite her acclaim, she describes acting as a way to address personal feelings of being unseen or transparent.
