Court Proceedings

Actor Rachel Griffiths attended a defamation trial at the Victorian Supreme Court on Monday. The case involves Cate Sayers suing her ex-husband Luke Sayers for defamation, claiming he wrongly blamed her for posting a photo of his penis to his X account in January 2025.

Griffiths stated to observers she was doing research for a potential drama project titled "Slander," in which she will star and produce.

She had not met Cate Sayers before Monday.

Deputy Nationals leader Darren Chester reported a $455 expense for a fax machine in the March quarter MP expenses data. Chester said he had not sent a fax in 15 years and has arranged to disconnect the fax line.

Coalition MP Scott Buchholz and Katter's Australian Party MP Bob Katter spent over $50,000 combined on flags. Buchholz spent $27,761, Katter spent $23,239.
