Melbourne Fashion Week: Designer Bares Her Mental Health Journey on the Runway
Melbourne fashion designer Rochelle Gregory debuted a self-funded runway show as part of Melbourne Fashion Week, accompanied by a 12-minute short film about her mental health journey.
The deeply personal film depicts her experiences with hospitalization, self-harm, suicidal ideation, bulimia, and anorexia.
"I attribute my sobriety of two and a half years to helping me focus on wellbeing," Gregory said.
A Courageous Creative Statement
Launching her independent label Rocky Rafaela in 2016 after graduating from the Whitehouse Institute of Design, Gregory has now used her platform to highlight a crucial, often hidden conversation.
Beyond the Runway: A Lifeline Partnership
In addition to her work as a designer, Gregory has served as an ambassador for Lifeline, with a T-shirt collaboration planned for later this year to further support mental health initiatives.
