GLAAD, an LGBTQ media advocacy organization, has announced the nominees for the 37th GLAAD Media Awards. The annual awards ceremony will take place on March 5 in Los Angeles. The GLAAD Media Awards have been presented since 1990, recognizing LGBTQIA+ representation in media.
The 37th annual event includes 291 nominees across 32 categories. These awards acknowledge fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of LGBTQ individuals and topics in various media forms. These include film, television, gaming, music, podcasting, journalism, and Spanish-Language media. The recognized works were published, released, or broadcast in 2025.
GLAAD President & CEO, Sarah Kate Ellis, stated that popular series and media are featured among this year's nominees, noting that LGBTQ stories resonate with a global audience. Ellis also highlighted the emergence of gaming, local news, and podcasts as platforms for LGBTQ talent and narratives. She affirmed GLAAD's mission to engage with all media to present fair and accurate stories, aiming to uphold values of family, fairness, and freedom.
Nominees for Outstanding Broadway Production include Liberation, Oedipus, Purpose, Redwood, and Smash. Breaking the Binary Theatre will receive a non-competitive special recognition award for The Drowsy Chaperone in Concert.
Other film nominees include Blue Moon and Kiss of the Spider Woman for Outstanding Film – Wide Theatrical Release, and A Nice Indian Boy (featuring Jonathan Groff) for Outstanding Film – Limited Theatrical Release. Hedda is nominated for Outstanding Film – Streaming or TV. Mid-Century Modern (with Nathan Lane, Matt Bomer, Nathan Lee Graham, and Linda Lavin) is nominated for Outstanding New TV Series. Abbott Elementary, Hacks, and Hazbin Hotel are among the nominees for Outstanding Comedy Series. The Gilded Age is nominated for Outstanding Drama Series. Renée Rapp is nominated for Outstanding Music Artist for the work "Bite Me."
