Fatal Stabbing on Atlanta Beltline; Suspect in Custody

ATLANTA — A 23-year-old woman is dead following a stabbing incident on the Atlanta Beltline Thursday afternoon.

The Victim
The Fulton County Medical Examiner has identified the victim as Alyssa Paige.

Timeline of Events

  • 12:10 p.m. The stabbing occurred near the 1700 block of Flagler Avenue NE.
  • Paige was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
  • A second person was also stabbed in the incident. Their current condition has not been released.

The suspect, a 21-year-old man, allegedly attacked a U.S. Postal worker prior to the stabbing and fled the scene on a bicycle.

The Arrest
The suspect was apprehended near St. Luke's Episcopal Church on Peachtree Street in Midtown at approximately 5:25 p.m.

Investigation Status
Officials have not yet released a confirmed motive. Investigators have noted that the suspect may have been experiencing a mental health crisis.
