Emergency Response at Brisbane Water Secondary College, Umina
Seven ambulances were dispatched to Brisbane Water Secondary College in Umina at approximately 11:00 AM following an incident involving students.
Students Assessed and Hospitalized
- A total of 15 students were assessed by paramedics.
- Three students were transported to Gosford Hospital in stable condition.
- A fourth student was also taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
Drug Ingestion Suspected
New South Wales Ambulance Superintendent Paul Edmonds stated that the students showed effects of drug ingestion. The specific substance involved has not yet been identified by police.
School Response
A spokesperson for the NSW Department of Education emphasized that student safety and wellbeing are the highest priorities. Following the incident, some students who were not involved were sent home for the day.
