Stunt Shot Controversy

A shot showing Frank Castle falling and impacting a crate has been criticized online for appearing visually unfinished.

A production source told The Hollywood Reporter that the shot is primarily practical: Jon Bernthal performed the beginning of the fall, and a stuntman performed the impact. Visual effects were used to replace the stuntman's face with Bernthal's, which may explain the unusual appearance.

Reception

The special holds an 86% critic score and 91% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. It is streaming on Disney+.

Context

The Punisher: One Last Kill continues the story from the 2017 series and Daredevil: Born Again. The character will next appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
