Incident

During the Farrer byelection campaign, One Nation volunteer Allan Beale was involved in a confrontation with Liberal Senator James Paterson at a polling station. Beale was filmed grabbing Paterson's phone.

Background

A court case from 2014 involved Beale in a violent confrontation with a fellow fishing guide, during which he used racial slurs and made threats. Magistrate John Neill described his behavior as "thuggish bullying acts" and "absolutely reprehensible racial slurs."

Social Media Posts

Beale shared a post defending Dezi Freeman, who killed two Victorian police officers, and expressed support for neo-Nazi Thomas Sewell. In one post, he described Sewell and others as "not Neo Nazis" but "lads sick of the immigrant gangs."

Party Response

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson stated she stood by Beale and was not disappointed to have him at the celebration.

Newly elected MP David Farley called Beale on stage during the victory speech. Hanson said she does not condone bullying or violence but declined further comment.
