Netanyahu: Military Action Will Continue Until Iran's Nuclear Material is Removed
"It's not over, because there's still nuclear material – enriched uranium – that has to be taken out of Iran."
— Benjamin Netanyahu, in an interview with CBS's 60 Minutes
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that military operations against Iran will persist as long as the country possesses highly enriched uranium (HEU) capable of being used for nuclear weapons.
In an excerpt from a recent interview with CBS's 60 Minutes, Netanyahu laid out a hardline stance on the removal of Iran's nuclear stockpile.
"There are still enrichment sites that have to be dismantled," Netanyahu stated. When pressed on how the HEU should be handled, he was unequivocal: "You go in and you take it out."
He further suggested that the optimal strategy would be a physical incursion into Iran to secure the fissile material as part of a broader agreement.
The Prime Minister also revealed that US President Donald Trump told him he wants "to go in there," signaling potential American support for a direct intervention to remove the enriched uranium.
