Sydney Sweeney, an American film and television actress, attended the Sydney Swans versus Melbourne Demons Australian Football League (AFL) match at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Sunday afternoon.

Before the game, Swans player Errol Gulden and AFL Women's player Taylor Smith presented Sweeney with a Sydney Swans guernsey bearing the number 21, which both players also wear.

A Familiar Return

Sweeney, age 28, was accompanied by her father, Steven, and friend Kelley McCartney. She was shown on the broadcast wearing a red Swans cap.

This was not Sweeney's first AFL match; she was invited into the Swans' club rooms in 2023 while filming the romantic comedy Anyone but You in Sydney.

Social Media Posts

“Back at my spot, definitely missed this.”

On social media, Sweeney posted content from her trip, captioning a story with this message. She also shared an image from the Sydney Harbour Bridge, captioning it:

“It was a bucket list trip for him and he named ma after the place so he had to come see it finally right?”

This referred to her father naming her after the city.
