Eagles Select WR Lemon at No. 16, Address O-Line Later
PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Philadelphia Eagles selected wide receiver Lemon with the 16th overall pick in the NFL draft, making him the second wideout taken after Carnell Tate, who went No. 4 overall.
Lemon was the second wide receiver drafted, following Carnell Tate at No. 4 overall.
The team had hoped to select an offensive tackle but was unable to trade up to acquire one. Wide receiver coach Aaron Moorehead, who has developed DeVonta Smith into a three-time 1,000-yard receiver, will work with Lemon. Lemon's playing style is drawing comparisons to both Smith and Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.
The Eagles missed on offensive tackles Kadyn Proctor, Vega Ioane, Monroe Freeling, and Kenyon Sadiq earlier in the draft. They now plan to address the offensive line with Day 2 selections, aiming to bolster the trenches in the later rounds.
