Altercation at Citi Field Mars Mets' 12th Straight Loss
A physical altercation in the stands overshadowed the on-field action during Tuesday's game between the New York Mets and Minnesota Twins at Citi Field. The incident occurred in the lower bowl and resulted in an arrest by the New York Police Department.
Details of the Incident
Witnesses described a fan, wearing a gray-and-gold Luis Arraez jersey, appearing to grab a woman seated in the row in front of him. The situation escalated until other spectators intervened.
One intervening fan used a rear-naked choke to subdue and restrain the individual in the jersey before security and police arrived.
The NYPD subsequently arrested the fan involved in the altercation.
On-Field Result: Mets' Skid Continues
The game itself extended a frustrating streak for the home team. The Mets lost to the Twins with a final score of 5-3, marking their 12th consecutive defeat.
The loss was sealed in the ninth inning when Mets closer Devin Williams entered with the score tied. Williams failed to record an out, allowing two runs on one hit and three walks.
Looking Ahead
The Mets will attempt to snap their lengthy losing streak when the two teams meet again on Wednesday. New York has listed Clay Holmes as their scheduled starting pitcher for the game.
