Microsoft Teams to Redesign Meeting Toolbar, Relocate 'Raise Hand' Button

Microsoft has announced a forthcoming redesign of its Teams online meeting software, with changes scheduled to begin rolling out in June.

The update will move the Raise Hand button from the main toolbar to be grouped under the Reactions button, a change Microsoft states aims to reduce accidental activations of the feature.

Users will be able to customize the meeting toolbar by pinning, unpinning, and reordering controls to suit their preferences. In a notable layout shift, the Leave button will be positioned separately on the right side of the toolbar.

The update was detailed on the official Microsoft 365 Roadmap. The company described the redesign as being "designed to be faster and easier to use," while also acknowledging that the interface "may feel different at first."

No images of the expected redesign have been released by Microsoft at this time.
